Poznan - Guide

Arriving

Lawica Airport is 7 kilometres from the city centre and is easily accessed via City Public Transport Company (MPK). The bus from the airport to the city centre takes 20-30 minutes depending on the route, runs frequently and will drop you at the main railway station. The cost for a single journey up to 30 minutes is 3.60zl, tickets can be purchased from the Tourist Information Centre in the airport.

A taxi directly from the airport to your hotel should cost approximately 30zl.

Getting Around

Poznan has a good range of public transport facilities but the pricing structure can be a little complicated. Most of the main city centre can be reached by foot but those wishing to make use of the tram system should purchase their tickets in advance and remember to validate them on entering the tram.

Poznan City Cards are available for 1, 2 or 3 days for 30, 35 and 40 zl respectively and provide free use of the public transport throughout the city as well as free access to a number of museums. These can be purchased in the Tourist Information Centre (either in the airport or in the Old Town Square) and are an ideal money-saver for those planning on doing a lot of sightseeing.
